Retold in an accessible way, this tale has the right mix of magic, intrigue and suspense to keep youngsters turning the pages. Daydreamer Michael's good fairy sends him off to realise his dreams at the Castle Belvedere, where he has to be nifty on his feet or else lose his head if he can't sort out where the prancing princesses go at night. He keeps his head! The flowery-bowery illustrations elegantly and sumptuously enrich the text with generous, fanciful detail.
