Albion's Dream
Edward Yeoman discovers an old board game in a dusty corner of a remote room in the family farmhouse. When he starts to play it, he finds the behaviour of those people who loom largest in his life begins to reflect the struggles of the arcane characters who strive against each other on the board. Soon the game has drawn him into a labyrinth where everyday reality and perilous magic become almost indistinguishable. This is an excellent adventure story, told in a refreshingly old-fashioned diction. It will appeal most immediately to devotees of fantasy games, but offers excitement and fascination to a much wider audience.
