Cover story
On the front of BfK this month is the cover of Yesterday by Adèle Geras. The artwork is by Carolyn Piggford. This book is one from the 'Teenage Memoirs' series published by Walker (see the article, All Their Yesterdays, in this issue) and Adèle, of course, is the subject of our Authorgraph - see centre-spread. Our thanks to Walker Books for their help in using this illustration.
Hopeless, but loyal servant, Snuff aspires to becoming a knight despite the poor status of his master and trainer, Sir Thomas Magpie. His ambition is realised thanks to the plight of the cobbler, his own quick-thinking and the agility of all - including the bony, but nonetheless four-legged horse. This 1973 publication remains truly hilarious in text and illustration and will appeal to all ages.
