Captain Pugwash is as irresistible now as he was 30 years ago and has won another generation of ardent followers-a marvellous book to challenge fledgling readers and one that has hardly rested on the shelf since we received it. A more greedy, cowardly, silly, charming hero is hard to find, so if you haven't met him yet buy this book and give it to any 6-or 7-year-old who'll bore you silly with smothered giggles as he or she tries to read you . . . just another 'funny' bit!
