Friends and friendship is the underlying theme of the eight stories in this collection. Even so, the variety of style and subject matter is wide-ranging and with writers of the calibre of John Agard, Margaret Mahy and Martin Waddell among the contributors, some readers will come to the book with high expectations: they will not be disappointed. For others it is both a good read and a good introduction to some new and exciting writers.
