These poems present a set of quirky observations from oblique perspectives: children commenting on adult rituals, animals observing nature and humanity, and in the final, more poignant sequence, aliens' and exiles' reflections on the Earth. There are also three short prose meditations on episodes of fear. Joep Bertram's illustrations provide an aptly surrealistic accompaniment to a collection of perplexities.
