Jack's Fantastic Voyage

As one might expect, it's the illustrations that make this book the success it is. From misty, pinky dawns to the navy blue of midnight storms, Michael Foreman's pictures of Grandfather's house and the wonderful adventure of its night-time sailing through icy seas, pick up the story and turn it into magic. We still don't know, at the end of the book, if Grandfather is telling the truth about his sea-dog past but, like Jack, we no longer think it matters.
