The Revolting Wedding

This is a sequel to The Revolting Bridesmaid, a splendid account of feisty Katie's appalled reactions to her big sister's engagement. This new book takes us up to the wedding day. Katie's accelerating disgust at the expensive melodramatics is promptly replaced by dread when she takes a header into the wedding cake she's been entrusted to protect, destroying it completely. The rest of the story is a highly entertaining description of her attempts to escape the consequences. Most children will find Katie a very sympathetic character and there are enough examples of authentically grisly adult behaviour to keep us all on her side.
