An ingenious way to introduce youngsters to some aspects of Jewish belief and the better known arte-facts. The reader becomes a detective and is involved in step-by-step decision-making throughout the investigation. A stranger has written a Hebrew message in perfect Block script on the synagogue wall. Rachel and Simon Levy, the rabbi's children, have engaged the reader as the Quicksolve detective to tackle their problem. The story is fascinating and the organisation of the choices at each stage of the investigation easy to follow. The mystery itself is quite a challenge and I'm sorry to say I didn't do too well in the scoring.
