OK - nail biting - a white knuckle read - gripping - a story to keep you on the edge of your seat. All the usual well-worn cliches. But, for once, they accurately describe this book. Gerry and David are on an Antarctic expedition during which they hope to retrace the final steps of their fathers, who were killed a year earlier during a similar trip. Masters' descriptions of the icy wastes are truly chilling and the story develops at a cracking pace. Is their leader all that he seems? How did their fathers die? Was it really an accident? An ideal book for tempting the reluctant reader amongst older pupils. Guaranteed to thrill and chill!
