Blume never lets her readers down when chronicling family life. Rachel Robinson is a 'holier than thou' model student but my sympathies lie with her troublesome brother at having to share a roof with such a perfect person! Expelled from school, Charles is sent home and seems determined to cause as much trouble as possible. Rachel cannot understand why her friends are attracted to him and she takes refuge in her music, reading Psychology Today and falling for her brother's gorgeous tutor. All is neatly resolved and everyone seems set to live happily ever after. Readers wishing to fill in any gaps should first read Just As Long As We're Together before embarking on this one.
