Somewhere in the Darkness
Jimmy's father, Crab, comes to reclaim him from his grandmother, Mama Jean, with the promise that they must leave New York for Chicago where he is to start a new job. But Crab, knowing he hasn't long to live, has actually escaped from prison and is desperate to return to the scene of his crime and persuade Jimmy that he was wrongly convicted of shooting someone. Their journey together is marked both by the actual events and their shared need to forge trust and bridge the gaps between them.
