Like the first book about Elizabeth and Larry, the old lady and her dinosaur friend, this has more to say about relationships than meets the eye. When Elizabeth takes in Ed, a homeless swamp creature, Larry has to battle with problems of dislike, jealousy and the need to be welcoming to one less fortunate than himself. Luckily, the problem is resolved when Ed's mum comes to take him home and peace returns. Cheerful, cartoony pictures and a deadpan text add to the attraction of this entertaining book.
