If you're looking for an action story with a strong female lead, you needn't look much further than this; a girl called Kate disguised as a boy on an 1813 sailing ship stalking American vessels in the Atlantic! How all this comes about and how it ends creaks a bit in places, but it makes a fast and exciting yarn with a crew of suitably salty characters.
