Rich with words adapted from the book of Genesis, Jane Ray's illustrations give immediacy and brilliance to a difficult story. The words have some lovely contemporary deviations; why do I always visualise sardines in cans? The pictures are dazzling and detailed - they beg to be talked about and shared. For the very young, this is a wonderful way into the Old Testament.
