1994 W H Smith Young Writers' Competition winners are gathered here in an attractive collection of prose, poems and artwork. The 65 contributions are arranged into nine sections with headers like 'Time Capsules', 'A Heart That Thumps' and 'Litter-filled Wastelands, Oil-filled Lakes.' There's wit, humour and impressive philosophy here. It's well worth a copy to support the competition and to demonstrate young writers at their best.
