This an interesting retelling of Prokofiev's story and a book that should grace every school's music collection. Ian Beck's illustrations are toned down to give an 'olde worlde' folk tale feel and the whole story maintains the impression that perhaps time has elapsed and it's now being told by an elderly Peter to his own grandchildren.
