A simple book with a wealth of wonderful word use - nouns which wet; adjectives and verbs which are 'w'; clever use of 'sp' words; 'opposite' adjectives; 'opposite' prepositions; past, present and future tenses; lots of repetition, alliteration and assonance and masses of observation - all the specifics young children may miss consciously but which 'make' the imaginative magic and wonder of the book. Because of its quality and cleverness this could be used by teachers with many age levels so long as overuse or misuse doesn't bludgeon its fun and spontaneity. Get out there and run with the rain!
