Dear Books for Keeps reader

NEW ON THE BOOKS FOR KEEPS WEBSITE – SPECIALLY FILMED INTERVIEWS WITH LEADING CHILDREN'S AUTHORS

Books for Keeps has launched a brand new feature at www.booksforkeeps.co.uk: specially filmed interviews with leading children's authors.

Click here to watch our first Books for Keeps video interview: Losing It was filmed at the Andersen Press launch for the book of the same title at Foyles Bookshop, Charing Cross Road. Losing It, edited by Keith Gray, contains eight short stories by some of the most popular and formidable talents writing for children today.

In the film, Books for Keeps editor Rosemary Stones interviews five of the writers who contributed to the collection - Patrick Ness, Sophie McKenzie, Mary Hooper, Bali Rai plus editor Keith Gray - finding out what's new and different about this collection of short stories for teenagers on the theme of losing, or wanting to lose, your virginity.

The next Books for Keeps video interview will be with David Almond as part of a retrospective on his career in our September online and digital edition.

It seems that many parents now feel that traditional nursery rhymes are simply too old-fashioned to interest their children.
