Mouseheart

Author: Lisa Fiedler

Beneath Brooklyn there is another world.  This world is ruled by a Dictator rat in alliance with a cruel queen cat and a rebel body of runaway rats.  Into this world falls Hopper, a domestic mouse that escapes from a pet shop with his sister and little brother. What follows is an adventure with Hopper fulfilling his destiny as ‘The Promised One’.  It is an interesting journey as Hopper not only finds his courage but learns lesson in deceit, betrayal and loyalty.  His sister Pinkie is described as brave and strong and yet she is a bully and it is often her actions that lead to greatest danger. Underneath the action there is a more thought provoking layer for those who wish to find it, on the nature of dictatorship, genocide and appeasement.  Not one for people who dislike anthropomorphism, and animals in the real world running around in cloaks, reading and having baths.   A cracking adventure for those who don’t mind.
