Krauss’s rhyming text of just 27 words penned over 50 years ago is brought to life as Max (of Wild Things fame) pursues his own teddy that has been seized by a yellow bloodhound. The chase takes him from bedroom, to stairs, hall, sitting room, bathroom, garden and onto public transport, through city streets and back to bed, the various scenes being populated solely by ursine characters.

After playing with the brief hand-lettered text, solo readers and listeners can savour the surreal Sendak scenes and discover their own wealth of stories therein.
