No Bed without Ted

Author: Nicola Smee

This is a charming novelty book told with a simple rhyming text. The scenario of the lost favourite toy at bedtime is one with which all readers can empathise… and here the little girl has lost Teddy. Flaps open to reveal all sorts of surprises (cats asleep in the linen cupboard, a family of mice in a drawer). All these little creatures join in the hunt for Ted, but it is Mum who eventually remembers where he is… Smee draws her characters with simplicity and warmth, and conveys their complete involvement in the plot. There is much in the illustrations to catch the eye of an observant reader. Quite perfect for bedtime.
