Little Lim and the Golden Treasure
In this fully illustrated short novel, we are taken deep into the world of a tiny people called ‘The Rockpoolers,’ who live in Tidepool. When a competition to find the best young explorer is announced our protagonist, Little Lim is very excited. The challenge for the young competitors is to find the most amazing shell they can. Lim is determined not only to take part but to win the competition, especially as her grandmother was so close to winning when she was young.
Little Lim braves stiff opposition and hungry seagulls to search for a competition winning shell. Her friend Kai supports her, and they find help within the library and from Lim’s grandmother’s stories. Fortunately, there is an eleventh hour happy outcome, though Lim ensures the credit for success goes to her friend Kim.
A richly imagined world is the setting for this engaging adventure story which celebrates the natural world. Themes of friendship, family love and determination also underpin the story. The additional legends within the main narrative add depth and there is interesting information about marine life throughout including crustaceans and starfish.
A beautifully illustrated story from the creator of The Journey Home and I Want the Moon.
