Littlenose the Leader

Author: John GrantIllustrator: Ross Collins

Littlenose is a little boy from fifty thousand years ago. His people live in caves and hunt to eat. Along with other historical details we learn how Littlenose helps his folks out on several occasions, rescues a Straightnose (Homo Sapiens) person and is befriended by them, and manages to save his pet Mammoth from a group of Straightnoses. Younger readers’ attention will be held by the details of everyday Stone Age life. The book is worth having in the classroom or in a library corner where reference material on the stone age will be livened up by these short, easy to read stories.
