That is NOT a Good Idea!

Author: Mo Willems

Inspired by silent movie, this book tells the story of a very hungry fox who decides to invite a very nice goose for dinner. Can he outfox her or will her goose be cooked?

Follow their story as the goose is led deeper and deeper into trouble, her goslings chanting a choral refrain at each new danger. Her goslings become increasingly agitated until, poised on the very edge of the saucepan … well, you will have to read the book to discover the dénouement.  Suffice it to say that the goslings feast on rich and meaty soup for their dinner that evening.

There is plenty of opportunity for young readers to get involved in the story by joining in the repetitive chant as they try to warn the goose of her impending peril. Build the tension as she fails to listen, cheerfully advancing towards her impending doom. Then listen to the laughter when her cunning plan becomes clear.

A great book for sharing with young children, with plenty of fun en route to its unpredictable ending.
