The Ladybird Code

Author: Caroline JuskusIllustrator: Kate Leake

Full of the sort of detail that children in Key Stage Two will really enjoy, The Ladybird Code chronicles the adventures and mishaps that befall Minnie Piper all along the way towards her eleventh birthday party. What to do? What not to do? Who to invite? Juskus has really got inside the head of your average party-loving child, and her collaboration with Leake has produced a book whose visual appeal (along with puzzles and added cartoon style details) is high. There is enough bite and material in the book to keep readers turning the pages until the end. I could not put it down myself, and it will be available in my classroom once I have finished writing this review!
