The Last Burp of Mac McGerp

Author: Pam Smallcomb

Mac McGerp is the best burper not just in Walters Elementary School but in his county, where everyone hopes that one day he’ll be National Burping Champion.

All’s well until the school gets a new principal. Mrs Goodbody is as bad as they come, a strict disciplinarian – motto: Results not Excuses – she immediately bans football, creativity and all burping on school grounds. This is a real problem for Mac and there are gleeful blow-by-blow descriptions of the physical effects of the literally earth-shattering burps that build up in him. But Goodbody has chosen the wrong boy to bully: Mac refuses to give in even though the burp, when it comes, blasts him into space.

A mix of comedy, fantasy and social comment, this is great fun for anyone who likes their humour gross and for those who’ll thrill with righteous indignation at Goodbody’s blatant abuse of human rights.
