Tiger, It's Snowing

Tiger has never seen snow before, but fortunately little Mei is there to explain it. Mei is all for staying inside in the warm initially, but Tiger wants to play. Together they run to the top of the hill, have a snowball fight, make snow angels and roll down to the bottom of the hill again. When Mei is chilly, Tiger is there to wrap her up in a big pair of ‘warm tigery paws’, and together they go home for a tasty bowl of soup with Mum. ‘We love snow!’ says Mei as they fall asleep, anticipating making a snowman in the morning. It’s a lovely exploration of new experiences for little ones, and they’ll enjoy the way Tiger leads the way, doing all the things Mei is reluctant to try. Daishu Ma’s textured illustrations are atmospheric and characterful and provide lots for adults and children to discuss together. Is Tiger a toy? The clues are there but either way, this is a touching and perfect depiction of friendship.
