Dr Ann McPherson, co-author of the ‘Diary of a Teenage Health Freak’ series of books in 1980s, written with Aidan Macfarlane, has died at the age of 65 of pancreatic cancer. The ‘Teenage Health Freak’ books were translated into 25 languages and sold more than 1m copies. Ann McPherson also founded the website www.teenagehealthfreak.org”>www.teenagehealthfreak.org.
An Oxford GP for 35 years, Ann McPherson was also a champion of patients’ rights and a campaigner to change the law on assisted suicide.
