ShoutAbout! is a new creative writing and illustration online magazine for children, launched by CWISL (Children’s Writers and Illustrators in South London). It was inspired by the wealth of enthusiasm they found at their events and workshops. They believe that encouraging children’s desire to tell stories is an essential part of building literacy and making them into readers.

YOUR SHOUT section hosts children’s work from all over the country – writing, drawing, painting, comic strips, comments on each other’s work; the core age is 7 –16, but contributions outside this range are not rejected.

ROUNDABOUT section shares ideas from published authors and illustrators about their craft, children’s own book reviews, competitions, quizzes, word searches, think pieces from teachers, librarians or parents (favourite books, reading, writing, illustration, news).Submission is easy, through a link on the site (under tight privacy controls). Timing: 3 issues a year (spring, summer, autumn). www.cwisl.org.uk
