A Tale of Two Kitties

Author: Liz Pichon

Neighbours, though anything but friends, indeed complete opposites in character and habits (Fluffy, not a hair out of place, and Scruffy – well scruffy), are both badly affected by an army of mice who invade first Scruffy’s, and then Fluffy’s house. Maybe it is time to set aside their differences and join forces but can those two cunning felines devise a plan to evict their unwanted visitors?

A jolly tale of fur, fun and for the mice, a faraway posting; then finally – when the felines meet each other half way – friendship.

Much of the action is told through the mixed media illustrations, which detail the squalor of (male) Scruffy’s house and (female) Fluffy’s luxurious existence. Bubble talk, changes of perspective and a variety of page layouts all add to the interest. Certainly, a book to be read several times to get the most from it and probably best shared with small groups or individuals.
