Fat Cat

Author: James SageIllustrator: Russell Ayto

Children love a challenge, and the three neighbouring farmers in this story have a common problem – their cornfields are being devastated by mice. Farmers Big and Bluster set about building the perfect mousetrap. Here, the illustrations will intrigue any child, for the contraptions built bristle with familiar paraphernalia connected in whacky Heath Robinson style. There are lots of visual giggles whilst the mice chomp their way through the cornfields, laughing at the so-called mousetraps. But why does Farmer Smart have no mouse problem? This book is full of humour, with text and stylized illustrations complementing each other perfectly.
