It's So Unfair!

Author: Pat ThomsonIllustrator: Jonathan Allen

When a large ginger tom is chased from the farmhouse with a swish of Mrs Prout’s broom, it seems he’s been unfairly treated. After all, he only drank a little milk. ‘It’s so unfair’ the hens agree. As the story of his eviction is passed on to the ducks, turkeys and other farmyard animals, the list of his misdemeanours grows, but still all agree, cat has been the victim of a serious injustice. So, they take the case to the Farmer. ‘Unfair!’ he decrees … until cat confesses to one final tiny incident involving the farmer’s favourite chair.

Cat’s understated account makes light of his misdeeds, but in his droll illustrations Allen shows us the real havoc wreaked by the sympathy-seeking moggy.
