A classic now, along with partner books, Don’t Put Your Finger in the Jelly, Nelly, and I Went to the Zoopermarket, these titles are certainly very welcome republications. Ketchup on Your Cornflakes? is an enlarged version of the 1996 paperback, with tough card covers and a reinforced cloth spine. Do you like ketchup on your cornflakes/toothbrush/toes? Do you like ice cubes in your bath/bed/-or lemonade? This book is such a HUGE favourite with children, over a wide age range, for the text is minimal, and solely in the hands of the reader. Even the youngest can read this book, changing the text as they flip the split pages. This brilliant format, posing very simple questions in large font, opposite big, bold illustrations, shows Sharratt at his very best. It is an experience to watch two children (or more!) sharing this book, flipping the splits, and laughing as they enjoy playing with words, and making sense (or nonsense!) of the world about them.
