This large format board book features photographs of preschoolers from different ethnic backgrounds playing musical instruments. Books for toddlers showing children in action often work very well but facets of this title are disappointing. The initial rhyming scheme suddenly stops and the text resorts to the sound of the displayed instrument. Some suggested actions for toddlers are far beyond their capacities, such as clicking fingers.
