‘…Startled by His Furry Shorts!' Fab New Confessions of Georgia Nicolson

Author: Louise Rennison

This is the seventh book of Georgia’s revelations and it’s more of the hilarious same. Young – and older – readers will welcome the return of old and much-loved characters such as Dave the Laugh, Vati and the transvestite Baby Jesus: all part of the legend of Georgia’s life. The addictively idiosyncratic language is still woven through the narrative and the Ace Gang continue to support the love travails of its leading member.

The rack of lurve (sic) on which Georgia finds herself with Masimo is perhaps laboured a little too long and her inability to realise that she and Dave are the only possible successful romantic liaison a little unconvincing but this series remains outrageously funny and its dilemmas reassuringly familiar to a teenage audience. The cliff-hanger ending sets the scene for a further addition to the series.

The new Georgia Nicolson website generates the same sense of camaraderie and fun – a timely device to give entertainment and support to legion young readers.
