Storytime: First Tales for Sharing

Author: Stella BlackstoneIllustrator: Anne Wilson

This book is a collection of seven traditional tales, mostly of European origin, retold in a lively manner ideal for reading aloud to under fives. Included are the ever popular and much anthologised Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Gingerbread Man, The Three Little Pigs, The Cock, the Mouse and the Little Red Hen, Stone Soup, the more literary story of The Ugly Duckling and the lesser known Henny Penny/Chicken Licken variant, The Timid Hare from the Indian sub-continent.

Wilson’s illustrations with their bright, bold blocks of acrylic colour and creatively conceived collage cut-outs provide a stylish visual accompaniment to the stories.
