The Diary of Dennis the Menace

Author: Steven ButlerIllustrator: Steve May

Dennis the Menace has crammed his diary full of tips on how to ‘menace’ successfully (Rule 7: Never leave home without a catapult) and it takes a broad look at all aspects of life in Dennis’ world. Loosely narrated throughout is a tale of Dennis’ dealing with the unfortunate Walter (one of the ‘softies’) in a Halloween ambush. Each page has doodles, notes, jokes, sketches as well as text, presented complete with ink blots and fingerprints to compliment Dennis’ reputation. While adults may find Dennis a little bit of a bully, this is all relatively harmless fun, although maybe not modelling quite the moral values parents would wish their children to exhibit. Fans of Dennis will find this easy to digest and entertaining.
