The Joshua Files: Ice Shock

Author: M G Harris

Trust and uncertainty run parallel in this sequel to the fast paced Invisible City. Tightly plotted, the novel opens as Josh remains uncertain and is keen to understand more about the events surrounding the death of his father. With this in mind, Josh ventures back to Ek Naab, determined to find resolution, thereby helping his grieving mother.

In trying to find what happened to the Bracelet of Itzamna, and whether his father was really implicated in its loss, Josh voyages into the subterranean world of the Yucatan. The detail and exoticism of the setting create a vivid backdrop for some of the most nail-biting moments in this fast paced roller coaster ride of a read.

Questions of self-belief and enquiry into that which is preordained provide food for thought that complements the furious action in this adventure. An enthralling, satisfying read that will leave its audience hungry for future instalments.
