The Tomtes of Hilltop Farm

Author: Brenda Tyler

Farmer Robinson puts his failing farm up for sale, bringing in smart-suited ‘baddies’ who plan to put the animals in danger with their big ideas. Afraid for the animals and the farm, the children seek the help of the Tomtes, magical creatures who, like the Shoemaker’s helpful elves, put everything to rights. As new produce begins to bring in profits and the now well-behaved animals toe the line, the farm is no longer in jeopardy.

Enchanting country scenes in striking landscape spreads are beautifully realized in this picture book which has a quaintly old-fashioned feel.
