Whale in the Bath
Illustrator: Tom JellettBruno needs to have his bath, but there’s a huge blue whale in there instead, and it’s using up all of his favourite bubble gum bubble bath. The whale would prefer krill flavoured bubble bath. Bruno’s sister doesn’t believe him, she tells on him for telling lies and avoiding the bath. He tries again but the whale is still there, it’s using his Dad’s back scrubber! Bruno’s scientist brother assures Bruno it would be physically impossible for there to be a whale in the bath – but sure enough he’s still there. The whale won’t budge – but is there a way for Bruno to get clean anyway?
A strange and surprising story – there is no explanation for this amazing occurrence, the bath is occupied and poor little Bruno will simply have to wait his turn. Tom Jellett has lots of fun with the illustration and manages to make the whale fit in the bath whilst still appearing impressive and enormous. Frustrating for Bruno – but great fun for everyone reading!
