Visitors to the National Centre for Language & Literacy can browse through an extensive collection of children’s books currently in print (15,000 titles) as well as audio titles and other resources. Expert advice is on offer on resources to meet particular needs. Many visitors attend courses and conferences on the teaching and organisation of reading, writing, drama, language study, multicultural education and home-school links. The Centre offers a Membership Scheme which services both schools and individuals. Members receive at least six of the Centre’s own publications which focus on matters of topical interest to teachers. They also receive a newsletter, information on events and special offers.
