Anna and the French Kiss

Author: Stephanie Perkins

Anna’s father packs her off to Paris for senior year, of course she protests. She doesn’t want to leave her family, best friend and a possible romance … Yet despite not speaking a word of French she soon settles in and makes friends, including the very swoon worthy but unavailable St Clair.

This is a classic ‘will they won’t they’ scenario, a sweet teen romance that goes deeper than the norm. Each of the main characters are there for a reason, they’re sturdy and very real. Perkins writes believable dialogue and makes it easy for you to create a clear image of the characters and the situations they’re in.  You find yourself caring about their lives too, not just what’s going on with Anna. There’s sexual tension, complicated friendships, strained parental relationships and school politics. Not to mention the beautiful descriptions of Paris. A little predictable at times, but very romantic nonetheless.
