There's a Dinosaur in my Bathtub

Author: Catalina Echeverri

Amelia has a secret. It’s big, green and French and it’s hiding in her bathroom. Pierre the dinosaur has a lovely curly moustache and is very friendly. Amazingly, Amelia’s family still don’t know he’s there – Pierre is tremendously good at hiding – and as she’s the only one who can see them they have become great friends. Pierre and Amelia have out of this world adventures, flying to the moon to drink intergalactic hot chocolate, sail to magical lands when it’s sunny (in the bathtub of course) and dancing on the ceiling when it’s raining.

There’s a Dinosaur in my Bathtub cannot fail to raise a smile and little ones will delight in the colourful spreads featuring Amelia and Pierre. As much a series of beautiful spreads as it is a story, this could entice some young writers to have a go at writing their own imaginary friendship story. The story ends when Pierre packs his suitcase for the return to France, because ‘everyone knows that French dinosaurs only get to stay in people’s bathtubs for the summer’. Of course! Bright colours and clever details make Echeverri one to watch!
