Bad, Bad Darlings: Small But Deadly

Author: Sam LlewellynIllustrator: David Roberts

In this sequel to Little Darlings, the Darling children, Primrose (sublime cook), Daisy (sharp witted Nanny) and Cassian (mechanical wonder), and their burglar parents return to outwit the evil Gomez Elegante in this (extremely) fast paced book. Their high speed adventures, the large cast of characters and the lightly subversive humour need an attentive and sophisticated reader, dear Reader. I have to admit I was not always up to the pace and arrived at the end tousled and a mite confused.

However, it’s all great fun, and has a few serious points to make on the way about the nature of childhood, and life itself, indeed, and an alert reader will find the satire and irony a delight.
