Baddies, Beasties and a Sprinkling of Crumbs

Author: Tracey CorderoyIllustrator: Ali Pye

Otto, Martha and Scarlet Crumb, live near Sharkstooth Bay with their dad, Henrig, an inventor. The three children are quite unusual: Martha worries all the time; Otto tries to solve crimes; and Scarlet does amazing karate kicks. Their father, Henrig, has just invented an unbreakable display case for a golden, jewelled elephant that is coming to be shown in the town’s museum. The summer holidays have also just started, but things are going wrong. Henrig has asked his sister, Bessie, to come and look after the children. However, Aunt Bessie and her pet wild boar, Basil, are beastly. To make matters worse, Otto is worried that a criminal gang, the Unstoppables, are going to try to get rid of the display case so that they can steal the Golden Elephant of Heera. Can the children stop the Unstoppables and can they avoid the beastly Aunt Bessie?

Baddies, Beasties and a Sprinkling of Crumbs is a madcap story. It engages the reader with a series of eccentric characters and odd situations. It is humorous and cleverly written, and will appeal to both boys and girls who like a story filled with hilarious events, fun illustrations and ‘a sprinkling of’ excitement.
