Why Twister, a tortoiseshell cat, decided to live in Uncle Theo’s toyshop is a mystery. But soon after her arrival, the fortunes of the toyshop appeared to change. Could Twister be using magic, wonders Uncle Theo’s niece Hattie. And then there is the matter of a pair of shop ‘givers’ turning up, not to mention what happens when Hattie takes Twister home…  If you have never lived with a cat, now’s your chance to become acquainted with their ways! Newbery’s perceptive writing makes the story entirely credible. It also works well when read aloud.
