Eliza Boom's Diary: My Explosive Adventure

Author: Emily GaleIllustrator: Joelle Dreidemy

Review also includes:

Eliza Boom’s Diary: My Fizz-Tastic Investigation, 978-1780552415

Packed to the brim with spy gadgets, plans and inventions, these two stories, narrated in a loose diary format, feature the plucky Eliza Boom, whose response to any situation is to create an invention: not all of which are successful! When faced with explosions aplenty, Eliza is not one to give up, and when (in the first book) she accidentally gives the class bully an important piece of spy kit, Eliza must use all her wits and inventing skill to save the day and recapture the spy-ware. Along the way she makes some interesting discoveries about her family and makes a new friend. In My Fizz-Tastic Investigation Eliza discovers suspicious goings-on next door and with inventions such as a ‘Super-leg-boing-master’ to help her see over the garden fence, and her trusty doggy side-kick Einstein,  Eliza rumbles an enemy spy. With many laugh out loud moments, and crammed full of black and white illustrations brilliantly capturing Eliza with her huge glasses and crazy hair, these titles are sure to delight readers of 7+.
