Kat Got Your Tongue

Author: Lee Weatherly

This starts out as very girlie but as Kat’s story unfolds, elucidated by Kathy’s diary, it becomes more intriguing and satisfying.

Kat remembers being run over but otherwise is in total shock, complicated by amnesia. It slowly dawns that her pre-crash persona, Kathy, was a deeply troubled individual and did something awful, which nobody is telling Kat about and which must be resolved if she is to move on and rebuild her life and relationships.

Emotion runs high and well structured suspense is key in this satisfying read for mid-teen girls. It’s a shame that the cover gives away so much of the crucial denouement.
