Originally published in France, these jolly large format board books all have a large hole cut into one side. This is then used throughout the text as the invisible head of whatever fish, animal or person happens to be featured on the page. No story is involved, but a succession of vignettes in the sprit of each book’s title offer good entertainment. Colours are generously applied, and there are plenty of different noises to imitate. Adult readers can also wiggle their own fingers though the hole when they are reading this book to infants whenever this seems like a good idea.
